Sara, I wish I was closer and could come give you a big hug. I read what is going on and it just made me so sad.

ReplyDeleteI have an answer to your question. The kind of man who chooses his second wife over his daughter is made of the same stuff as a woman who chooses booze over her first-born child. Yeah, that would be me.
He's your father. That's just DNA. What really matters are the people who are there for you and love you. The people in my life who are always there for me and who I know I can count on, other than my children, don't actually share DNA with me, but they are nonetheless my family.
I love you and I will be over just as soon as I shake this crappy cold to hug you and sit with you and maybe tell you about my drunken-assed mother who was passed out in bed every day when I got home from school.
You are a beautiful wonderful person and I love you very much.
