I wonder what the record is for the longest-term healthy pregnancies is

  1. A normal human pregnancy is 40 weeks. The longest documented I can find is 43 weeks. Generally an expecting mom is not allowed to go more than 1-2 weeks overdue before labor is induced, since overdo babies can get too large (medically known as macrosomia). If induction doesn't work, the baby is delivered by cesarean section.
