I don't quite understand how zombies would even work. our muscles can't function without blood, and since zombies are technically dead...

    Zombies are re-aminated by voodoo or other magic and are compelled by the magic to carry out a purpose. They don't think, they have no will of their own, and they feel no pain. They are simply compelled by magic and won't stop until their task is completed.
