I think if homosexuality was really so evil god wouldn't have created it

  1. I'm not sure that's a valid argument. Couldn't the same be said for racism, for instance?

  2. Markle; yes.

Often people say that god is both omnipotent and perfectly good.

    But there's three different possibilities.

Either people are wrong about god thinking homosexuality is evil,

OR god is not perfectly good,

    OR god is not omnipotent.

There is no possible logical explaination to the contrary, given the "facts".

  4. Zoe: "Free will" is irrelevant when discussing homosexuality, as studies indicate (and I refer you to the Wikipedia article) that homosexuality is an innate characteristic.

It can be argued (to various levels of success) that acting on homosexual impulses is the sin. However, it is still evil to tempt a person's soul (in the Christian belief system), which means that God would've had to have created something "evil" (that is, innate homosexuality in humans).

Which leads back to Michael's three options.

Personally, I'd take issue with the imperfect definition of "perfectly good" given by Michael, but otherwise I agree with him.
