Sara has been transferred back upstairs to the Respiratory Care ward. She has done really well in ICU lately, and her oral secretions are down. Dr. ThisWeek called me a little while ago and we discussed the plan. That plan is for them to continue to wean her down (currently at 28% oxygen - to 21% oxygen) and then decanulate her. I told him that once she is decanulated then I want to bring her home.
He said he will have the discharge planners call me to get that process started. We did discuss her current participation level in therapy (doing well and she's loving it). I asked him if he could check with the PTs working with her on whether they feel she may NOW be a good candidate for Vallejo.
Who knows?... Either way, she's doing well and moving to a lower level of care, on her way slowly to home...

That's wonderful to hear! I don't know her personally, she's apparently a friend of a friend... but I got teary-eyed when I heard her story.

I knew her from the Tower of Time as well, although we didn't speak all that much. I thought she was a really nice person, and I was stunned when I finally learned why she hadn't been online for so long.

ReplyDeleteI am from the forums of the Tower of Time (ToT) and known there as Sailor Spoof (or Spoofie for short). I, too, just found out about Sara's condition and was even a bit more surprised when I found out that she only lives a city or so away from me. I live in Santa Rosa.
I recall reading the short article about the accident in the Press Democrat, but since there was no name listed (nor did I know Glory's real world name at the time), I didn't realize that it was about her.
My heart broke when I found out through Sakky what happened to Sara and I'll keep her in my thoughts for a speedy and triumphant recovery.
Hello. My name is Cherish I don't know if Sara knows me or not, but I go by Kochou1331 at the Tower of Time. I don't think that she and I ever spoke extensively there, but I know that her presence was large on that board. We all knew of her and love her dearly there. I was shocked to hear of what happened to her. She is in my thoughts and prayers; her wonderful support group is as well.

Oh thank god she's getting better. My name is Jessica, and Glory will know me as Sailor Crystal Phoenix. I cried when I read what happened to her. As Sakky said, please give her all our love from the Tower of Time. We miss her dearly and just hope for her to get better and recover.
