  2. Hi Kristina,

My name is Karen Winfield, and I do martial arts with Sara. I've spent many a fun evening in padded weapons class trying not to get bashed in the head by Sara (she really is very good with the staff!). She is such a bright, wonderful young lady and I have so enjoyed training with her and getting to know her. She has always spoken so highly of her mom, and its clear how much she looks up to you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please tell Sara hello for me and let her know how much we miss her.

    Karen

  3. Kristina,

I have read your blogs and I'm moved by the strengh you've shown all the way through. I think that you are an impressive women and supporting mother.
My name is Michelle Gachet and I'm a student at SRJC who writes for the campus newspaper, the Oakleaf.
With all respect, I wanted to write a story about your daughter, so more people can become aware of her situation and what you are going through.
    Thank you for you time,
I send you my best whishes.

  4. Hi Kristina:

I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your spirit! Anyone who can keep their sense of humor through all you have been through and can still find a way to laugh, has what it takes to get through it. Know you will NOT be abandoned by either God or those who know and love you as time goes on. There are people across the country praying to God, not only for Sara's full recovery, but for strength for you. Keep the faith and know you are not alone and may God richly bless you and Sara! Also, I have a friend who is a doctor in Santa Rosa, he attends my church and he has heard of two cases of this and states one of them had a full recovery, so know that this is possible for her.

  5. Hello Kristina,

Greetings. This is Carlo from UCDMC. Today is my day off, and I thought post a comment. Someone told me about a book called "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" by journalist Jean-Dominique Bauby. Buaby himself suffered a massive stroke, and was in a locked in state as well. However, he was able to write a memoir of his experience. I am sure it would be an interesting book to compare with Sara's experience. Here is a wiki-pedia link on the description of the book:

  6. This is mike. Sara's Step Dad. My dad loves sara and he drove down from Oregon just to see her. He was heartbroken to see her like that, But wanted to be with her and tell her he loved her. I could see it in her eyes that she was so happy to see him
